January 1, 2021

Dear BW scholars and families,

Happy New Year! This letter contains important schedule changes that will begin January 5th. As a reminder, the week of January 5th-8th, ALL students will be VIRTUAL. Please review your NEW schedule (attached and in TylerSIS) and go to bwlearninghub.org for NEW Zoom links. Second semester Zoom links will be updated at bwlearninghub.org by 12pm on Monday, January 4th.

Beginning January 11th, Hybrid IN PERSON Cohort A students will attend school IN PERSON on Monday and Tuesday and virtually on Thursday and Friday. Hybrid students in Cohort B will attend classes virtually Monday and Tuesday and IN PERSON on Thursday and Friday. ALL VIRTUAL students will continue attending ALL classes on Zoom. Wednesdays will continue to be asynchronous, reserved for office hours, tutoring, and independent learning and work.

Beginning January 5th, classes will start at 7:50am and will end at 2:50pm. ALL classes will be 50 minutes long with 5 minute breaks between classes and a 30 minute lunch break. ALL students will have 4 days of ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science, and PE/TOP. Electives will be held virtually, Mon/Tues (Cohort B) or Thurs/Fri (Cohort A), on opposite days from Advisory and Academic Lab. For example, 7th grade Cohort A students will have Advisory and Academic Lab periods 5 and 6 on Mondays and Tuesdays and will have their elective classes during periods 5 and 6 on Thursdays and Fridays. ALL students will have two days of Academic Lab time during which they can work on homework. ALL students will have two days of Advisory to focus on social-emotional learning. Virtual students do not need to log into a Zoom class during the Advisory or Academic Lab time. Virtual students will complete the Advisory lesson in Google classroom independently and be able to use the time as a break from Zoom. Hybrid students will attend Advisory and Academic Lab on their in-person days. Note: During the district-wide virtual week of January 5th, ALL students will complete Advisory and Academic Lab time independently and do not need to sign into a Zoom link during their Advisory/Academic Lab periods.

You can verify your Cohort by logging into Tyler SIS. You should see an A, B, or V. ‘A’ indicates that you will attend school in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays and will be virtual the remaining days. ‘B’ indicates that you will attend school in-person on Thursdays and Fridays and will be virtual the remaining days. ‘V’ indicates that you will attend ALL classes virtually. If this information is incorrect, please contact your grade level administrator immediately.

Please note that you may see a different teacher assigned to core classes. Subject area teachers from both grade level teams will be co-teaching to support virtual and in-person students simultaneously. Despite both teachers being assigned to the class, SIS only displays one teacher’s name. You may reach out to either teacher or any administrator for any questions or support.

ALL students should log into their NEW 1st period class Tuesday, January 5th, at 7:50am. Please see the NEW CLASS TIMES below.

We look forward to a great second semester! Please contact any administrator with any questions,
